Our Mission

St. Cloud Pride was started in 2010 to raise awareness regarding issues of heterosexism, homophobia and transphobia within the Central Minnesota community. The first annual St. Cloud Pride celebration was attended by an estimated 1,700 people and has grown to over 8,000 attendees in recent years. Our major focus is to provide education, resources and event opportunities to the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year. Members of St. Cloud Pride range from all aspects of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Ally spectrum, and share the goal of making sure everyone takes pride in themselves. This means providing assistance when people most need it. We ultimately work to create safe space and partner with community members to spread the affirmation of equality.

Our Vision

Through the organization’s mission and cooperative community members, we hope for a drastic decrease in discrimination and for all those who spread messages of equality to have their voices heard. Academic settings with reduced bullying and students possessing a greater sense of self love and acceptance for others would only create healthier environments in which to succeed. Workplaces with positive interactions and celebration of diversity could truly make for a more productive and cohesive society. While we believe a lot of good happens in our community, we know constant work must be done to promote positive change. We cannot do this without YOU!

Thank You

We thank all those who enjoy our local events from our St. Cloud Pride in the Park and Pride Drag show the 3rd weekend in September to our monthly QueerConnects, our annual Drag Brunch and so much more! We also thank you for showing support in the community because a little love goes a long way. St. Cloud Pride wants to create a progressive and safe community here in Central Minnesota but this goal is not attainable without all the wonderful sponsors and people who attend our events. Thank you for keeping our annual Pride in the Park a time to celebrate diversity but most importantly thank you for allowing us to keep education and community support always a top priority.

Safety

We are aware of the National Terrorism Advisory Bulletin posted by the Department of Homeland Security on November 30, 2022, which indicates that there is an increased threat of violence against members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We are keeping this information in mind as we plan our events, placing an increased emphasis on security as a part of our planning. However, we will not hide from the world in the face of bigotry and hatred. We encourage members of our community to make the decisions that feel best to them in light of these threats, but we will continue to hold events to continue to support and build our community, and to continue to be a visible, vibrant part of the St. Cloud, Minnesota area.
